The specific characteristics between spruce & cedar soundboard remains a fascinating subject that easily feed some very lively discussions.
For my own concern, given my influences and personal taste, I mainly used Canadian western cedar over a long period in my overall production.
However, since 2006, after making a guitar with spruce table after many years away with this species, and taking advantage of the latest refinements of the Morency model; I got a great result, and a renewed love for spruce.
Since then, I have as much pleasure and satisfaction to work with spruce than cedar.
The cedar that I use is from western Canada, and the spruce chosen comes from a region on Austria and Germany frontier. All the selected material is of very high quality.

Épinette Allemande
German-Austrian spruce
Cèdre rouge du CanadaCanadian western red cedar
