The confinement was a good time to do some mixing tests and doing a second remix of this recording session with Jérôme Ducharme.
Here we are with 5 more studies of the “Estudios Sencillos” by Leo Brouwer.
You will be able to read the details from the video’s notes.
A duet with Daniel Blanchet (10 strings guitar) and Guy St-Pierre (piano).
This 10 strings guitar was originaly built for Rémi Boucher during the 80’s.
This is the third and final part of a recording session with Jérôme Ducharme: Leo Brouwer — Study XVII.
These studies of Brouwer certainly tells a story… therefore to conclude I give you my impressions about this very nice and last recorded piece:
Having ABA form, it plunges us in a dark feeling, like a long and difficult waiting where time seems flowing a second at a time…until a subtle transition leads us into the splendid central section, a reminiscence of the first Prelude of the well-tempered Clavier by J.S. Bach, a graceful moment reflecting promising answers, but which soon leaves this pacefull mood to plunge us back into the early state, which after a while evolves slowly to leave us having a soft resignation feeling…
Thank you to listen.
